Why Haven't You Called Yet?
by Pat Moomey, C.A.T.S., Certified Addiction Treatment Specialist
1. BECAUSE THINGS ARE "NOT THAT BAD." You may not see or want to see the warning signs until you experience a serious crisis. 2. BECAUSE YOU FEAR WHAT OTHERS WILL THINK. Afraid that the person will lose their job, friends, etc. you won't ask you help. When you are deep in an emotional struggle you often can't overcome your fears. 3. BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE TIME. It takes a long time to reach a point of crisis and solutions don't happen overnight. Your loved one is running out of time and needs to start the healing process. 4. BECAUSE YOU ARE AFRAID OF WHAT YOU WILL HAVE TO DO. Your past and present hurt can keep you from asking for help. Taking responsibility for your decision can be the toughest thing you've ever done. 5. BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW WHO TO TURN TO. Seeking help for an addiction of a loved one will be the first step toward healing and growth. Call me for the first step. Pat Moomey, C.A.T.S.
